Questions, answered

Everything people ask us before they order. If yours is not here, just ask.

Choosing a case

Which phones do you make cases for?

iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel — 68 models, from the iPhone 7 up to the latest releases. Start in the studio and pick your phone first: from then on you are only shown the cases that are actually made for that model, so you cannot accidentally order one that does not fit.

What is the difference between the case types?

Tough is dual-layer with the most drop protection. Snap is a slim one-piece shell. Flexi is a softer, flexible TPU. Clear and Magnetic Clear are transparent, so your design sits over a see-through back. The Magnetic cases have a built-in ring for magnetic mounts and chargers. Card Holding adds a slot for a card or two, and Flip is a folio that covers the screen.

Glossy or matte — which should I pick?

Glossy makes colours look deeper and photos pop, but shows fingerprints. Matte is softer and more muted, hides marks better, and feels less slippery. For a photo we would lean glossy; for block colour, text or a logo, matte usually looks smarter.

Designing your case

Why does my design have to run past the edge?

The print wraps around the sides of the case, not just the back. The studio shows you two guides: the hatched border is the part that wraps around the sides, and the dashed purple line is the edge of the back face. Fill right to the outside of the hatched area and your case comes out with colour all the way around. Stop short of it and you get a bare white strip along the sides — which is the one result the guides exist to prevent.

What file types can I upload, and how big?

Any standard image file — JPG, PNG and WebP all work — up to 20MB. If the image is too low-resolution to print sharply at the size you have placed it, the studio warns you before you add it to the cart.

My photo looks slightly cropped in the studio. Is that right?

Yes. An image is placed to cover the whole printed area by default, which means the parts that fall outside the case shape are trimmed off. Scale it down or drag it around until the part you care about sits inside the dashed line.

Can I put text on it as well?

Yes — add as many text layers as you like, from a library of over 80 fonts, in any colour. You can rotate, curve and resize each one. Keep anything you want read comfortably inside the dashed line, since anything past it curves around the side of the case.

Will I lose my design if I close the tab?

No. Your design is saved on your own device as you work, so if the page reloads or you come back later on the same browser, you are offered the option to pick up where you left off. It never leaves your device until you add the case to your cart.

Orders and delivery

Does anyone check my design before it is printed?

Yes. Every order is reviewed by hand before it goes to the printer — we look at the actual print file, the phone model and the case type. Nothing is sent to production automatically. If something looks wrong, we contact you before anything is made.

How long will my case take to arrive?

[[EDIT ME: production time plus delivery time, and any express option. Give a range you can consistently hit rather than a best case.]]

Where are the cases made?

[[EDIT ME: state where the cases are actually printed. Do not describe them as Australian-made unless production is in Australia — country-of-origin claims are enforceable under Australian Consumer Law. Shipping to Australia is a separate thing from being made here.]]

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Get in touch as fast as you can. Because each case is printed for you individually, we can usually only make changes before it goes to production — once it is printed it cannot be put back into stock, because there is no stock.

Returns and problems

Can I return a custom case if I change my mind?

Custom-printed cases are made to your design and cannot be resold, so we are generally not able to accept change-of-mind returns on them. That is a normal exclusion for personalised goods and it does not affect your rights below. Our full refund policy has the detail.

What if the case arrives faulty or the print is wrong?

Then it is on us. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply to custom items exactly as they do to anything else: if a case is faulty, badly printed, or not what you designed, you are entitled to a replacement or a refund. Send us a photo and we will sort it out.

The colours look different to my screen. Why?

Screens emit light and ink does not, so a print is never a perfect match for a bright display — deep blues and vivid neons are the usual culprits. A noticeable shift is normal; a print that is plainly wrong is not, so if it looks off to you, tell us and we will take a look.
